4, 11, 18, and 21. Researchers also believe there are psychological and social
risk factors such as emotional trauma, child neglect, and chronic illness.

one episode. The other half experience recurrent episodes. A child with MDD
is at risk for psychosocial developmental problems and for suicidal behavior and
