For mild anxiety psychological interventions such as psychotherapy or
relaxation training are usually the best.
Anxiolytics are medicines for reducing anxiety. These include
beta-blockers and benzodiazepines. Beta-blockers can be used to help treat
the biological symptoms of anxiety, e.g. palpitations, sweating, shakiness
etc. They are usually used to help heart conditions such as hypertension
(high blood pressure), angina, etc
