Monitoring of interventions

Monitoring of interventions
Interventions must be monitored at regular intervals to make sure they are
working minor alterations will be needed to
the treatment plan in order to obtain better results. Also, if the unwanted
behaviour has worsened, the person with intellectual disabilities will need to be reassessed for new clues and an update on changes (e.g. new workers
at the day centre who have replaced those that the person was familiar
with, introduction of a new routine or change in medication etc.). Changes
in the treatment plan must involve support to staff, carers and family who
will be responsible for putting them into practice. It is part of the job of the
mental health professional to maintain contact with the people who
provide care for the individual, listen to their feedback and involve them in
the planning process.
